Description

The Emma Light Coat with Silver Floral Jacquard is a light transitional coat in black jacquard with metallic threads woven into a silver floral pattern, closed with hidden press buttons and belted with a self-tie at the natural waist. A shirt collar, long sleeves, side pockets, and a hem that finishes at the knee. It is the coat for the weeks when wool reads too heavy: restaurant arrivals, theater and gallery openings, and the softer occasions where you still want to be seen arriving.

Fabric
Jacquard with metallic threads (90% polyester, 10% metalized fibers). A jacquard pattern is woven at the loom rather than printed on top; the Emma takes that one step further, with the metallic threads woven in as well rather than applied to the surface. The silver floral shimmers softly under restaurant and event lighting and survives years of wear without flaking. Hidden press-button closure, self-tie belt, and a tailored fit-and-flare silhouette. Handcrafted in the Luna atelier in Pozarevac, Serbia, in limited batches. Designed in Europe. Ships from California.

Fit
The Emma is cut in a fit-and-flare silhouette and most clients take their true size. Size up if you prefer more ease through the bust or plan to wear it over a heavier piece. Hidden press-button closure, self-tie belt. Refer to the Luna sizing guide for measurements. Model is 5 foot 9 inches wearing size 2.

Styling
Over the Lucy Jacquard Midi Dress in Midnight Blue for jacquard on jacquard evening dressing, coat and dress sharing the same woven dimension.
Over the Aria Jumpsuit in Black for an evening arrival where the silver pattern reads against the clean, architectural bodice.
Open over the Lucy Draped Blouse in Ivory and tailored taupe trousers for soft-formal daytime dressing.
Carried with the Klara Structured Mini Handbag for theater and gallery arrivals, a compact bag against the shimmer of the coat.
Keep the metal tone consistent: silver is the metallic that crosses palettes, so it sits with white-gold and yellow-gold accessories alike, and pearl reads modern against the silver floral.

Care
Jacquard with metallic threads (90% polyester, 10% metalized fibers). Dry clean only. Steam or iron on low if needed. Do not bleach. Mill-woven metallic threads do not flake or fade under normal wear. Hang on a wide padded hanger; cedar bags during summer storage.

What justifies the price for a lightweight coat?
Three things. First, the cloth: metallic-thread jacquard is among the most expensive fabric categories made, because the pattern and the metallic shimmer are both woven in at the loom, and a loom set up for pattern weaving and metallic threads at once roughly doubles the production complexity per yard. Second, a lightweight coat is harder to tailor than a winter one: the cloth has to hold a tailored line without weight to support it. Third, the self-tie belt, the hidden press-button closure, and the fully tailored silhouette each add atelier hours. The price is the fabric, the hours, and a limited batch.
What is metallic-thread jacquard and why does it matter?
Metallic-thread jacquard is a cloth in which the pattern and the metallic shimmer are both woven in at the loom. The threads are part of the weave, not printed or foiled on top, which is why the shimmer lasts. Dry clean only.
Why silver instead of teal?
Because silver crosses palettes. It sits with cool-toned and warm-toned wardrobes, with white-gold and yellow-gold accessories, and with deep colors and neutrals alike. Teal commits to cooler tones and to deep-color evening dressing. Choose silver if your wardrobe spans warm and cool; choose teal if your wardrobe runs on deep tones and your accessories on cognac and oxblood.
Is this a winter coat?
No. The Emma is a lightweight transitional coat for spring, fall, and mild winter days. For true winter weather, see the Nicole Wool Wrap Coats, the Lucy Wool Coats with Fur Collar, or the Selina Wool Cape.
Will the metallic threads tarnish or flake?
No. The metallic threads are woven into the cloth at the mill, structural rather than applied to the surface, so they do not flake, tarnish, or fade under normal wear. Dry clean only.
How should I size?
Luna coats are cut true to size to wear over a blazer or a knit. Measure your bust at the fullest point, add four to six inches for layering, and compare the result with the size chart on the product page. If you are between sizes and will wear the coat over suiting most days, take the larger size. Returns are accepted within 30 days.
What is the return policy?
A 30 day return window applies.
