Description

The Clara Wool Trench Coat in Navy Blue is a long-fiber wool blend trench coat in navy, finished with a D-ring belt, a notched lapel, and a full Bemberg lining. It is built as the executive trench that holds professional silhouette against rain and weather, with water-resistant fiber composition and the heritage trench architecture preserved in full.

Fabric
Eighty-seven percent long-fiber wool, thirteen percent nylon, at 420 grams per square meter. Handcrafted in the Luna atelier in Pozarevac, Serbia. The nylon content delivers water resistance through moderate rain without compromising the wool's hand. The 420 GSM weight holds a tailored silhouette across long urban wear and walking commutes. The navy tone is the sophisticated alternative to a black wool coat, warmer in photographs and more flattering across skin tones. Full Bemberg lining at the body and sleeves with hand-finished interior seams.

Fit
True to size with shoulder construction precise enough to sit cleanly over tailored blazers. The body fits over a knit or blouse under a blazer comfortably. The D-ring belt allows adjustment for cinched waist definition or wear the coat open with the belt tied at the back. The sleeve length clears the wrist of a blazer cuff by half an inch. The midi length sits at the knee. Between sizes, choose the smaller for closer tailored fit or the larger for additional layering room. See the Luna sizing guide for measurement specifications. Model is 5 foot 9 inches wearing size 3.

Styling
For executive daily wear across rain-prone seasons, pair over the Mila Draped Midi Dress in Abstract Taupe or the Olga Wrap Dress in Navy for tonal continuity.
For business travel and urban arrivals, layer over the Lucy Draped Blouse in Ivory with the Agatha High Waisted Wide Leg Pants in Ivory.
For evening pivots, pair with the Lucy Jacquard Midi Dress in Midnight Blue for tonal blue evening sophistication.
For mother of the bride at an outdoor ceremony in cool weather, the coat sits cleanly under the structured shoulder and stays through ceremony coverage.
For client dinners that move from boardroom to restaurant, the Klara Structured Mini Handbag completes the silhouette.
Silver and gold both read clean with navy; hold one metal across all hardware.

Care
Dry clean only, once per season for moderate wear; twice during heavy rain seasons. Brush wool after every wear with a stiff-bristle clothes brush. Store hung on a wide padded hanger inside a garment bag; folding creates a permanent crease at the back seam. Steam to refresh between wears; do not iron directly. The water resistance treatment lasts approximately three to four years of moderate use; refresh through a professional wool re-proofing service when water beads no longer form.

What is the heritage trench architecture and why does it matter?
The 1879 trench coat construction includes storm flap, gun flap, raglan sleeves, D-ring belt, double-breasted closure, and inverted back pleat. Most contemporary trench coats reduce that architecture to two or three elements; the Clara preserves all of it. Each element has a function: the storm flap directs water away from the chest, the gun flap layers across the shoulder, the raglan sleeve allows arm movement under layered weather, the D-rings carry equipment or accessories, the inverted back pleat permits stride and seated work without strain.
Is the Clara water resistant or waterproof?
Water resistant. The 13 percent nylon blend resists light rain and mist. For heavy rain, layer with an umbrella. The Bemberg lining wicks moisture away from the wool. Re-waterproof every 18 to 24 months at a wool-trench-capable tailor to maintain resistance.
How is the Clara different from the Rea Jacquard Trench Coat in Beige?
The Clara is a true wool trench: heavier weight at 420 g/m², deeper navy, all-weather construction. The Rea Jacquard Trench is lighter at approximately 340 g/m² and reads more occasion piece than daily driver. Choose the Clara for daily executive wear in rain-prone regions; choose the Rea for transitional weeks and softer occasions.
Why navy and not black?
Navy is the considered alternative to default black. It reads softer in daylight, more dimensional in photographs, and pairs more flexibly with warm accessories. The deep saturated mid-navy is calibrated to flatter cool and warm skin tones equally rather than tilting toward royal or midnight.
How long should this trench last?
Five to ten years with proper care and re-waterproofing every 18 to 24 months.
What is the return policy?
A 14-day return window applies.
